James Brozzo
Mr. James
Brozzo graduated from Michigan Tech with a degree in Chemical
Engineering in 1953. He joined the Dow Chemical Company immediately
after graduation, where he began his career in Technical Service
and Development. IN 1961 he moved to the Organic Chemicals
Pilot Plants as a Development Engineer and Project Manager.
After a short assignment in Economic Evaluation, he was promoted
to Superintendent of Market Development Semiplant, and in
1969 supervised the Saran Development Plant. Mr. Brozzo was
named section Manager, Michigan Division, in 1970. He was
then promoted in 1979 to site Manager of the Allyn’s
Point plant in Connecticut. He returned to Midland in 1983
as Manufacturing Manager with responsibility for many processes
as well as overall production responsibility for two remote
sites. During this period he was also the Dow representative
to two sister city relationships in China and Japan. Mr. Brozzo’s
final assignment with Dow, beginning in 1991, was to bring
operating discipline to the numerous plants of the Michigan
Division as manager of Technology. Mr. Brozzo retired from
Dow in 1993 and settled in Houghton. He has been active with
many organizations throughout his career, including Rotary,
YMCA, and the Navy League. He continues to be active with
the Boy Scouts of America where he is area Vice President
and older of the Silver Beaver and Silver Antelope awards.
He serves on the Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory
Board. Both Mr. Brozzo and his wife Sally are members of the
President’s Club. |
