As a Vice President Operations Technology Maureen (Mo) Johnson is accountable for supporting safe, reliable and efficient operations in Exploration & Production (E&P). Her particular areas of focus are BP’s Operating Management System (OMS), Continuous Improvement (CI) and Activity Planning. Working with the line and functional subject matter experts, her team plans and supports deployment of improvement strategies in these focus areas.
Mo began her career in the oil & gas industry as a Facility Engineer working in the gulf coast on-shore U.S. Following graduate school, she joined ARCO Alaska in Anchorage and held a variety of engineering and operations assignments covering Prudhoe Bay and Kuparuk fields. In the “lower 48”, she held a number of asset management positions, among these were Mid Continent Area Man-ager for Vastar Resources, an independent E&P company. In addition, she has had held roles as Commercial Manager and Chief of Staff. Immediately prior to her current role, Mo was Business Unit Leader of Greater Prudhoe Bay.
Mo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and Ph.D. from Rice University’s Department of Environmental Science and Engineering.
Mo and her husband Todd Torczon reside in Houston with their two sons, Mitchell and Owen.
