To promote safety, valve should be looked at, and possibly replaced.

Fluidization sieve analysis, the sieves are bent and some jam very tightly, I could have hurt myself prying them apart and the jolt affected results by dumping a little material

I suggest $3000 for new sieves or removal or reforming of bent ones

Potential hazard – within only a few seconds, 30 psi steam through the heat exchanger will cause the thermometer to ramp up near their 240° F max. The idea of a preheat is not possible unless water flow is also present. 

Suggestion is to add the major safety precaution to the objective handouts.
